Prince's Gambit July Update
almost 7 years ago – Tue, Jul 25, 2017 at 09:30:04 PM

Hello Prince's Gambit backers!

RichT here:

Just a quick update to let you know that we've been getting excellent feedback from the various playtest groups trying out the new cards, and we're expecting that the new art will be coming in in August. Once those two things are done, we should be able to combine them, finish up the card set layout, and get the files off to the printer.

Also, if you are attending GenCon, and want to play some demo games of Prince's Gambit, we'll have decks at our booth - and our friends at the Wrecking Crew demo team will also be up for a game if you stop by the Onyx Path demo room.

Finally, here is some info on our current Kickstarter project:

A new book of historical Dark Eras, intended for the Chronicles of Darkness, but designed to be fascinating reading regardless of your gaming interests. Each Era features two different game lines. We started the book with six Dark Eras, and backers have already unlocked a seventh - the Golden Age of Piracy!

Most importantly, backers are currently voting on which one of three other Eras to include in the book when the next Stretch Goal is met. Come on over and join in the fun:

June Prince's Gambit Update
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jun 30, 2017 at 05:23:48 PM

Hello Prince's Gambit Backers!

RichT here:

The Prince's Gambit KS BackerKit site is up and Surveys have gone out.

I know some of you experienced a bit of shock at the shipping prices, and I don't blame you. We researched a variety of ways to lower the shipping costs and in the end were able to lower some costs outside the US, but not all. And in some cases the overall shipping was a bit higher than estimated.

For example, our EU shipper could get us much better pricing for shipping from them into other EU countries, but then we added in the cost to get the cards from our printer to them in the UK, and the VAT that was then ours to pay, and we wound up closer to the original estimate after all.

Please bear in mind, we are not Amazon, and we can't afford to take a loss on the shipping. That would pretty much go against the whole idea of this Kickstarter, after all. The shipping prices to go from the US to anywhere else are simply awful.

Meanwhile, we have the text for the added cards confirmed, and now we're just waiting for the new art to be finished and sent in, and the cards put together and we can start manufacturing.

Please be sure to get those Surveys filled out and if any of you know anyone that couldn't pledge to the Kickstarter but would like a deck, the BackerKit "pre-order" store is also functioning.

Thanks!

We're funded!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, May 24, 2017 at 02:46:30 PM

Woo, everyone! Rose here. ^_^ Thank you for supporting Prince's Gambit!

We blew through several stretch goals at the end: three new Clans, plus lots of full-color art. That makes for a very exciting start for our first card game, and we're incredibly grateful for your support.

And I'm personally grateful that you've funded us getting to explore Vampire: The Masquerade in a new way. I'm always interested in the ways new rules and models of play can show different aspects of a setting, and Masquerade is a very rich setting! :)

RichT says:

Wow! Thanks to all of you, we not only get to make this great game but we're including new art for the Traits and added the remaining Clans to get all 13 plus Caitiff! Fantastic!

Next, Kickstarter goes through its payment checks and all that for about two weeks, and then at a later point, we'll get the BackerKit Survey out to you and put the site up. Now, we're off to commission more art and get those Clans written up! Thanks!

Two hour warning: Check your pledges!
about 7 years ago – Thu, Apr 20, 2017 at 09:11:31 PM

Hi, Rose here. ^_^ Please take a moment between now and the end of this Kickstarter in about two hours to review your pledge. I know it sounds unnecessary because you're on top of it and/or it's annoying to get warning messages, but both of the issues below have happened to backers during one of our other KSs.

1) Did you pledge to the Reward Tier that offers you the rewards you want? Go through the description and make sure the rewards are mentioned there. They are not cumulative with the Reward Tiers before them.

2) Did you make sure that your payment method is valid? Is your credit card maxed out? Kickstarter will mark your pledge non-collectible and you won't get your Rewards. Did you borrow the card and they decided to block the charge because you had a fight? There's a window to resolve payment issues with KS, but there's no guarantee that the resolution will be what you want. Better to make sure your payment method will work now.

That covers the typical trouble spots, and we'll be answering your questions in the comments, or more directly via the "contact me" link on Rich's profile, for the rest of the KS.
